John Landry
John Matthew Landry is a solo live looping artist who incorporates drums, bass, piano, guitar and singing into his performance as a one man band. Born in Mesa, AZ and raised between Phoenix and Long Beach, CA -- he started playing piano when he was only 6 years old and continued to pursue music throughout his life. After an 8 year term with the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman, John left the USMC as a Sergeant with an Honorable Discharge and was accepted into California State Long Beach - Bob Cole Conservatory of Music.
His eclectic influences span across many genres and provides a wide range of cover songs and originals from pop, soul, RandB, funk, rock n roll, blues, country, reggae and hip hop. He has written two songs that have made into the Paramount movie "Clerks 3" directed by Kevin Smith. He has a band in Los Angeles called "Roots of MIne" that has played on major festivals and most recently, co-headlined the Jay and Silent Bob Cruise Askew. Now that John has relocated back home to Phoenix, you can find him playing solo performances around Phoenix and surrounding areas in between touring as a guest vocalist and road crew for the so-cal based reggae band "Fortunate Youth". In 2024, John finally accomplished his life long dream of singing on stage at Red Rocks with Fortunate Youth and Slightly Stoopid. He has also performed at Cali Vibes Reggae Fest, Cali Roots Fest, Closer to the Sun and large venues across the United States, Bahamas and Mexico.
